Before the Classification Scheme came into force both Officers drew $1,440 per annum. The Unofficial Committee recommended both of these offices $1,897 per annum, but in the Classification Scheme they were both placed in Class III Salary $1,300 - $3,100 by $100 biennially, with a commencing salary of $1,300 an increase of $350 each in 1901, the next increment being due on the first of January next.
Previous to 1900 the same clerks only received $1,320 per annum.
